Oli faction organises march-past on the eve of mass gathering

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4

'KP Oli, I love you. I love you, I love you,' scores of cadres belonging to Oli-faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party chanted the slogan repeatedly during a 'march-past' organised in the capital today.

Cadres and leaders of the faction, old and young, chanted slogans cheering and hailing their leader Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on the day coinciding with dissenting faction's general strike.

At the march-past, slogans like 'KP Oli I love you", "Not for today or tomorrow, Oli for two more years", "Hail KP Oli", among others were chanted.

The rally was organised on the eve of a mass gathering that has been called by the faction in central Kathmandu on Friday. People in thousands, from Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, had participated in the march.

Leader of the faction Mahesh Basnet had co-ordinated the march-past. Leader Neeru Pal along with Basnet, both of whom are said to be close confidants of Oli, was seen chanting slogans at the rally.

Meanwhile, street dividers from Durbarmarg, where the Friday gathering is scheduled to be held, have been taken out to facilitate the same.

On Thursday, the Dahal-Nepal faction had enforcesd a Nationwide general strike in protest of the Oli-government.
