Mahara to head CPN Maoist Centre team in govt

KATHMANDU: Krishna Bahadur Mahara would lead the CPN Maoist Centre team in the new coalition government as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs.

A meeting of the CPN Maoist Centre Headquarters today decided to this effect. Similarly, the party has decided to send Janardan Sharma in the new government headed by Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Minister for Home Affairs.

Mahara was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance while Sharma held the Energy Ministry portfolio in the erstwhile government led by CPN Maoist Centre chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The meeting has also decided to send Prabhu Saha in the government. His portfolio would be decided later, according to party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.
