Lalitpur fire guts property worth Rs 1.45 million
KATHMANDU: A fire from motorcycle workshop of Shivaram Karmacharya, at Khumaltar in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-15, gutted property worth Rs 1.45 million on Wednesday.
The investigation points to electrical short circuit as the cause of the blaze.
A set of dent-paint machine, three scooters, a motorcycle including other valuables worth Rs 1.3 million were gutted in the blaze.
The flame also got hold of a room of Dev Bahadur Ale in the neighbourhood that gutted the property worth Rs 150,000
Meanwhile, a fire in Bhaktapur gutted property worth about Rs 1 million on Wednesday.
The fire in Gaurishankar Traders, a hardware shop, had caught fire.
According to police, the fire had started in the neighbourhood of the hardware shop when an air filler tube belonging to a tyre retreading workshop burst near its shutter, in the underground floor of Sajha Madhyapur Oil Store at Chardobato in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-15.
Three people were injured in the rush of people escaping the fire.
The fires were doused and taken the situation under control with the help of fire brigade and locals, informed police.
The investigation is underway.
