Lalitpur to get Rs 30m for road projects
Lalitpur, May 12:
Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and executive officer of the Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LSMC) Prem Raj Joshi today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the allocation of Rs 30 million budget for the construction of 34 road sections in Patan.
Joshi said that the Ministry of Finance would provide the budget to the LSMC within a week. “The construction will begin as soon as we receive the budget. It will be carried out with the help of consumers’ committees, for which over 20 consumer’s committees will be formed.”
Joshi added the LSMC has also invited proposals from the locals willing to widen their roads. “The roads will be made wide by one metre on either side. Budget for widening will be provided either through the Lalitpur Road Division office, or LSMC.”
The LSMC has started reconstruction and renovation of sewage pipe lines from Gabahal to Mangalbazaar area with the contribution of 10 per cent budget from the locals.
