Lamsal to lead RJA corporate committee

Kathmandu, February 14

National News Agency reporter Ramesh Lamsal has been elected the convener of the National Corporate Committee of the Revolutionary Journalist Association affiliated to Unified CPN-Maoist.

A 35-member conference organising committee of the National Corporate Committee of RJA was formed today under the leadership of Lamsal.

The committee includes Basudev Pokhrel of Gorkhapatra daily and Sanchu Blon of Thaha Sanchar Radio as joint conveners.

Today’s national gathering of the National Corporate Committee was held as part of preparations for the first national conference of RJA scheduled for February 19 and 20.

Addressing the inaugural session of the gathering, Unified CPN-Maoist standing committee member and former minister Lokendra Bista Magar said journalists should find innovate ways to present news.

RJA Chairman Govinda Acharya said young and energetic journalists should take charge of the RJA as there were hundreds of able journalists to lead the organisation.

Secretary of Federation of Nepali Journalists Sangita Khadka said journalists should promote professionalism and ethical journalism.
