Lasting peace soon: Sitaula

Kirtipur, November 11:

Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula said today the peace currently prevailing in the country would be transformed into lasting peace as per the aspiration of Nepali people.

Minister Sitaula was speaking at a week-long Mahapuran Paath (recitation of Buddhist scriptures) and Saint Whannadhaja Mahasribir felicitation ceremony organised at kirtipur on the occasion of 56th auspicious birthday of reverend Saint Whannadhaja Mahastabir of Myanmar.

The Home Minister said political leaders have been serving for the betterment of Nepali people by abandoning personal and other vested interests. Power resides in heart and mind, not in the weapons, he said, adding that Nepal can propagate the message of peace to the world through Buddha philosophy and education. Minister Sitaula also released a book “Shanti Abhiprerana (Peace Inspiration)” authored by Dr Wannaja Guruma. Wannadhajja said the current peace in Nepal has paved the way for peace-building process.

Former minister Bal Bahadur KC, former state minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha and Jiv Ram Dangol said political initiatives of Nepal in expediting peace process have been set as an example to the world.
