Tremor felt in Kathmandu late at night
KATHMANDU: An earthquake was felt by residents of Kathmandu at around 2:23 am on Wednesday.
A sudden jolt accompanied by a crackling noise at the later quarters of the night woke many people up from their sleep.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the 3.6 magnitude (ML) earthquake with its epicentre in Kathmandu caused the tremor.
This is an aftershock of the massive Gorkha earthquake that hit Nepal in 2015, according to the seismological centre.
People soon took to social media to confirm and to share their experiences of the late night quake.
Meanwhile, many seismic activity related websites have been alarmed and are actively following the occurrence.
