Lawmakers discuss govt policies, programmes
Kathmandu, July 8:
The parliament began discussions on the government’s annual policies and programmes today.
Seeking amendment to the policies and programmes, MPs of different parties registered 23 amendment proposals.
A majority of those registering the proposals were Maoist lawmakers. Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana also registered a proposal and said, “It is ironic
that most of the amendment proposals have come from those who are in the government.” Participating in the discussion, MPs said that the polices and programmes are not in line with eight-party agreements.
The discussions will continue in the next meeting of the parliament on Monday.
