Laxman Humagain reinstated as NTV GM

KATHMANDU: Laxman Humagain has been reinstated as the General Manager of Nepal Television.

Humagain had been temporarily relieved from his responsibilities and deputed to the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology since February 26 earlier this year, on the charge of involvement in alleged irregularities concerning fake bank guarantee for transmission of advertisements.

Humagain, however, received a clean chit three months ago from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nepal Police and the concerned bank authorities.

In his brief remarks following the reinstatement and welcome by NTV staff, Humagain expressed happiness upon returning to the NTV after a span of nine months and gave assurances to continue working in the interest of the institution as a whole.

In his absence, Dipak Mani Dhital was acting as the General Manager of NTV.

Humagain had been appointed the General Manager of NTV through open competition on November 1, 2012.
