Leaders pay final tribute to Dahal

KATHMANDU: A huge crowds of leaders from across the political spectrum including the cadres and leaders of CPN Maoist Ccentre, well wishers and ordinary citizens went to Paris Danda, the Headquarters of the CPN-Maoist Centre, to pay homage to the departed soul.

Tearful CPN MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who had air dashed to Kathmandu from Jhapa where he had been campaigning for left alliance, draped a party flag over his son’s body at the party headquarters.

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, former Chair of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Gopal Man Shrestha,   Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar, CPN-MC leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha,  Ram Bahadur Thapa, Barshaman Pun, Matrika Prasad Yadav, Janardan Sharma, Pampha Bhusal and  Agni Sapkota were among the top leaders who went to Paris Danda to pay homage to the departed soul.

Communist leaders Mohan Baidhya and CP Mainali also went to Paris Danda to pay homage to the departed soul.

Party Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal said Prakash Dahal, a Politburo member and a Central Committee member of the party had worked at party’s Secretariat since 2000 and his death caused an irreparable loss to the party and the party’s  movement the party had been championing.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari went to CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s house and condoled the death of the CPN-MC Chair’s son.
