Lalitpur, February 22:

A leopard was trapped in Siddhipur VDC of Lalitpur after it terrorised the locals early this morning.

According to police officers at Lubhu, the leopard was spotted around 7:30 in the morning. Chased by the locals, the beast took refuge in a store room of Don Bosco School located in the area.

Locals then locked the room and informed the police, District Forest Office and the Central Zoo. Around 5 pm, the police officers, in the presence of DFO and central zoo officials, tranquilised the leopard. The leopard was then taken to the central zoo.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident, police said. A large number of people had gathered on the school premises to catch a glimpse of the leopard.
