KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Rayamajhi claimed that the country would be able to restrict the load shedding upto four to five hours per day from mid-April.

Speaking at an interaction organised at the Reportes' Club in the Capital on Saturday, Rayamajhi said the significant reduction would come into effect as early as next week.

"I have laid a strong foundation," he said, "The works will not be hampered with the change in government."

"Works are carried out in a smooth and effective way according to the master plan to end powere crisis," Rayamajhi said.

Claiming that he had brought drastic changes in the sector of energy amid various challenges, he said that the government would not have to face energy crisis in future.

"We will be able to export electricity within a couple of years," he said.

Moreover, Rayamajhi said that he had already directed the concerned authorities to complete the construction of hydro projects in various parts of the country at the earliest.

He informed that the construction of big hydro projects like Budhi Gandaki, Naumure, Nalsinghgad, Upper Arun and Sunkoshi among others would start soon.
