LSMC yet to break total budget down

KATHMANDU: Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LSMC) is yet to allocate budget under various heads, due to the delay in the all-party meeting.

"The council meeting has passed the total budget. But the board meeting has not been broken it down to various heads," said Er Badri Krishna Tamrakar, chief, Planning Division of the LSMC.

LSMC has estimated Rs 380 million to be spent this fiscal year, Rs 250 million on development works. Rs 50 million will be spent to complete the projects initiated last fiscal. The allocation of the remaining amount is expected to be sorted out next week.

Parties representing the Constituent Assembly are yet to form a mechanism as directed by the Ministry of Local Development. Budget and programmes for the last fiscal were also approved only at the end of the third quarter.
