Madhesis want reservation
Kathmandu:
A talk programme was organised on Saturday by Nepal Backward Classes Development Association (NBCDA) to put pressure on parties concerned to raise the Madhesi issue.
The speakers called for the Madhesi issue to be handled with sensitivity and demanded reservation for the Terai people in government offices and posts. President of NBCDA Bharat Mahatoo warned the situation would go from bad to worse if the Madhesis are forced to fight for their rights. NC central committee member Narahari Acharya put the blame on the constitution for hindering Madhesi welfare. Former president of Federation of Nepalese Dalits, Deepak Sharma, however blamed former parliamentarians for the problem. — HNS
