Mahato’s assurance to Madhesi MPs

Kathmandu, May 18:

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Rajendra Mahato, said today the government is “seriously considering” the demands of the Madhesi parliamentarians, who have been obstructing the Parliament for the past many days.

“I am hopeful that the demands would be addressed soon,” Mahato told an interaction organised by the Youth Parliament here today. He, however, raised serious concern over some “activities” that have been ‘hatched’ to “minimise the existence of the Madesh”.

Stating that the eight-party meeting would be called soon, Mahato said: “They (the parties) are engaged in homework now.”

NC (D) vice-president Gopal Man Shrestha criticised the eight parties for playing a blame game over the current situation.
