Man held for deceiving, stealing mobile sets
KATHMANDU: A man involved in deception for theft has been arrested by a team of police deployed in Koteshwor of Kathmandu on Tuesday.
According to police, the suspect has been identified as Govinda Chaulagain (36), of Pokharichauri VDC-3, Kavre, who has been staying in a rented room in Bagbazaar.
The suspect deceived the shopkeeper that he was there to buy some mobile sets for INGO workers and stole eight branded mobile sets worth around Rs. 339,000 from a Gongabu-based mobile shop owned by Aayush Thapa on August 5, police said.
Police had caught Chaulagain while he was attempting to sell the stolen mobile sets in Koteshwor.
The suspect has sent to the Metropolitan Police Range for necessary legal actions.
