Man injured in tipper hit, dies at hospital

KATHMANDU: An elderly man, who was critically injured after a tipper hit incident, died during treatment at the Nobel Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu on Thursday night.

Man Bahadur Shrestha (70) of Mahankal, Bouddha, Kathmandu was knocked down by the tipper (Ba 2 Ka 1324) in front of the Tribhuvan International Airport's Golden Gate in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning.

After the incident, critically injured Shreshta was sent to the Sinamangal-based Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital. Later, he was referred to the nearby Nobel Hospital.

There, he had breathed his last at around 11 pm yesterday, according to police.

Meanwhile, the deceased's wife Mina Shrestha (60) who has sustained injuries in the incident is being treated at the same health facility.

The Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, had already arrested the tipper driver and impounded the vehicle for further investigation on the day of the incident.
