KATHMANDU: A person was killed and another sustained serious injuries after the two motorcycles they were riding on collided head-on at Pikhel in Chyangunarayan Municipality-1 of Bhaktapur district this afternoon.

Police identified the deceased as 36-year-old Babulal Tamang of Khoriyagaun in Bhaktapur district and the injured victim as 21-year-old Bibek Khatri of Pikhel in the same Municipality.

Police said Tamang's bike(Ba 43 Pas 8101) had collided head-on with Khatri's two-wheeler (Ba 40 Pa 3384). The former was killed on the spot.

It has been learned that both the bikes were high-speed.

DSP Ratna Thapa said the seriously injured Khatri is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre of Bir Hospital after receiving primary treatment at the Bhaktapur Hospital, informed police.

Meanwhile, the body has been kept at the Bhaktapur Hospital, informed DSP Thapa.
