Kathmandu, May 6:

A father killed his nine-month-old baby at Buddhanagar this morning.

According to police, Resham Kharel, 39, slit the throat of his daughter Sujita when his wife Seema had gone shopping.

Kharel is said to have told the police that he was “not fully conscious” when he murdered his baby and has blamed “dark spirits hovering” above him for pushing him to commit the crime.

Seema told the police she was shocked to see her child murdered when she returned home after grocery shopping.

Investigation has revealed that Kharel suffers from epilepsy. The baby’s body has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital for post mortem.
