KATHMANDU, APRIL 18

A man surrendered before police after killing his sister-in-law on the street last evening at Bulbule Marga in Baneshwor, Kathmandu.

Mohan Rajbhandari, 48, had thrashed Roshni of the same age with an iron rod multiple times, police said. Both of them were not in good terms lately due to family issues. The man had taken a taxi and rushed to Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, after fatally thrashing Roshni multiple times. Senior Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh said the man seemed to have thrashed the victim for a few minutes after failing to control his anger.

By the time Rajbhandari had arrived at the Teku Range, police had already alerted their staff about a possible homicide case. "We came to know immediately that the accused was the same man about whom we had circulated information. It was not necessary to do much investigation in the case."

It is learnt that Rajbhandari was under the influence of alcohol when he attacked Roshni.
