Maoists slammed

KATHMANDU: Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) today condemned the Maoist cadres’ recent activities of showing black flag to veteran Nepali Congress leader and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and CPN-UML leader KP Oli.

The HURON also criticised the abortive attempt of the Maoists to

interfere in a programme attended by the two senior leaders on Sunday.

Issuing a press statement here, Human Rights organisation of Nepal said, “We strongly condemn such unconstitutional activities of the Maoists that violate people’s right to freely participate in peaceful political campaigns.”

The rights body also urged the Maoists to respect the rights of political leaders and dfferent political parties with different political ideologies to

be able to freely express their views.
