KATHMANDU, MAY 13

Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel has urged the Kathmandu Valley Mayors' Forum to cooperate with the federal government to contain the COV- ID-19 pandemic.

In a meeting with mayors at his office in Singha Durbar here today, DPM Pokharel, also the CCMC chief, opined that all should help the government in this battle to contain the COV- ID-19 pandemic. He added that only unified initiatives and positive thinking could help win this battle.

According to DPM Pokharel's press adviser Ganesh Pandey, Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, mayor forum Chair Bidya Sundar Shakya, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, Madhaypur Thimi Municipality Mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha, among others, were present in the meeting.

The forum has proposed to launch integrated isolation centres in four different places of Kathmandu valley. The mayor forum has also said it would initiate steps to resolve the crisis of oxygen supply inside Kathmandu valley.
