Measles, rubella vaccination kicks off
KATHMANDU: The second-phase programme of administering measles and rubella vaccines under the regular vaccination programme has begun Tuesday. Under the programme, nine to 15-month old children across the country would be immunised for free in line with the government’s target of eradicating measles and controlling rubella by 2019. The first-phase immunisation programme was begun in 2004 and children up to nine months were immunised. Inaugurating the vaccination drive at Kanti Children’s Hospital, Minister for Health and Population Khagraj Adhikari said, no child should die of these diseases.
