Mercury drops to 4 degrees Celsius in Kathmandu Valley today
KATHMANDU: Temperature in Kathmandu Valley plummeted to 4 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature so far this year, on Monday.
The minimum temperature on Sunday was measured at 4.5 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Nirajan Sapkota said, temperature is falling across the country as winter sets in further.
If it is mostly cloudy, the maximum temperature will rise as the cloud functions as a blanket and vice versa.
Furthermore, meteorologists predict that this winter minimum temperature will plummet to zero degrees Celsius.
Weather will remain clear for next couple of days. Despite sunshine during the day time, it will be chilly in the mornings and evenings.
Presently, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly region of the country. While hilly areas of Province 1 will be partially cloudy this afternoon, weather in rest of the country will remain generally fair.
As per the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Kathmandu Valley’s maximum temperature was measured at 21.6 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Jumla reports the lowest temperature at -6.5 degrees Celsius and Biratnagar records the highest minimum temperature at 13.5 degrees Celsius.
