Minbhavan water supply in two weeks

Potable water will be supplied from the tank under construction at Minbhavan on a trial basis after two weeks.

Water from the Manohara river of Thimi and Bode will be collected at the 3 million litre capacity tank which is under construction with a height of 72 feet. Work on the intake well and treatment plant has been completed for the supply of water from the tank, a concerned official informed.

The volume of water to be supplied daily from the tank now under the last phase of construction is 21 million litres. The tank constructed with the cooperation of the government of Japan will be handed over to Nepal Water Supply Corporation in the next 10 to 12 days. A similar tank of 2.7 million litre capacity is under construction at Anamnagar. Water from existing sources will be collected and distributed. The problem of potable water supply in the Valley is expected to be resolved to some extent.
