MoFA to interact regularly with Nepali envoys: Gyawali

Kathmandu, July 9

Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali today said his ministry was creating an action room to hold regular briefing and interaction with the ambassadors of Nepal in various countries. Addressing a book launch programme, Minister Gyawali said the ministry would interact regularly with Nepali ambassadors abroad after the construction of the action room.

Minister Gyawali unveiled a book titled ‘Diplomatic Practice of Nepal: Experience of Ambassadors,’ edited by central committee member of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bishnu Rijal. In the book, Rijal has included stories of 20 former ambassadors of Nepal. “The book will help new ambassadors to work during difficult period in a foreign country,” he said.

Secretary of the ministry Shankar Das Bairagi said the book has added a new chapter in the history of Nepali foreign policy. Journalist Yubaraj Ghimire said nationality is important than democracy. Former ambassadors, Bhekh Bahadur Thapa and Madan Kumar Bhattarai said the book will help to enhance the diplomatic sector of Nepal.

Editor of the book Rijal said, “I would like to appreciate all those who have contributed to the country through their diplomatic services.” The book was published by the Institute of Foreign Affairs.
