Minister of State Banskota stresses on controlling mobile phone black marketing
KATHMANDU: Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Banskota has opined for controlling the irregularities on bringing in mobile phones evading tax.
While inaugurating the first convention of mobile distributors' association in Kathmandu on Friday, he said all business groups should unite to stop such practice tax evasion.
State Minister further stressed on fair business as cell phones had eased the lifestyle promoting national economy.
Similarly, Nepal Telecommunications Authority's Min Prasad Aryal shared that such practice of illegal import of cell phones was however reducing after the introduction of compulsive IMI registration system.
Mobile Phone Importers' Association Chair Deepak Malhotra said they were committed to controlling black-marketing in mobile phone business.
On the occasion, State Minister Banskota launched the souvenir of Nepal Mobile Distributor Association. A statistics showed nearly Rs 2.5 billion is transacted annually in mobile phone business in Nepal.
