Minister Pandey sees immediate need of shifting Bandarjhula settlement

CHITWAN: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Bikram Pandey today underlined the need of shifting the settlement in Bandarjhula to an appropriate location instantly due to the growing conflict between human and wildlife from Chitwan National Park.

The settlement has been established by encroaching the park territory.

While addressing the 45th anniversary celebrations of Chitwan National Park in Kasara today, Minister Pandey insisted on the immediate need of shifting the settlement to ward off human-wildlife conflict.

Bandarjhula is home to 550 households established by encroaching 539 hectares of land belonging to CNP.

On the occasion, he took time to stress on efforts from all side to conserve and promote the natural flora and fauna including the Park.

He also inaugurated the Park's newly constructed office building.

The new structure was constructed at the cost of Rs 30 million and it took a year to get completed.

People from different walks of life including journalists, CNP employees, security personnel and social organiations were feted on the occasion for their contribution to the park conservation.
