KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 21
A mobility programme was successfully conducted by LCCI Global Qualifications based in Lalitpur in partnership with Forth Valley College, Scotland. The mobility programs were for culinary and hospitality management students. The programme took place from February 4-20.
This initiative aimed to enhance the Nepalese culinary and hospitality sector through international collaboration and exchange of best practices. The programme facilitated knowledge-sharing and professional development among hospitality students and industry experts, specifically in Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Bharatpur and Pokhara.
The main objective was to strengthen technical skills, professional expertise, and sustainability in the hospitality and tourism industry by providing hands-on training, skill enhancement, and exposure to international students.

Key Activities of the Programme included Sustainable Cooking Practices and Community-Based Cooking Project, Waste Management in Hospitality – Focus on Sustainability in Food Services and Hotel Operations, Soft Skills Development in the Hospitality Industry, and Food Safety Training, Industry-Academia Collaboration and Expert Exchange, read a press release.
The Scotland–Nepal Mobility Program has been a milestone in strengthening Nepal's hospitality industry through global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
This initiative has also laid the foundation for future collaborations between Nepal and Scotland, ensuring that Nepal's hospitality industry, workforce, and tourism sector continue to grow at an international level.
