KATHMANDU: With a view to managing the information system and maintaining transparency in local bodies, Ministry of Local Development (MoLD) has launched websites, emails and internal memo system in all its departments and sections. The SMS Gateway of the Nepal Telecom will be installed in the MoLD and its branches to facilitate easy access of the new technology to the people by October 17, said Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, spokesperson, MoLD.

Also, a networking facility among divisions, sections and projects of the ministry would be put in place, he said.

The E-governance policy was conceptualised in July this year. The move was to allow the information to circulate quickly, receive online complaints promptly, circulate internal memos in a time-bound manner.
