The book titled 'Step by Step' about the international mountain guide Pemba Gelje Sherpa has been made public in Kathmandu, on Saturday.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Co Chair of CPN (UML) Ishwar Pokharel, unveiled the book amidst the ceremony.
The book is written by author Mark Pavel and contains the story of a young Sherpa from the community who overcomes one obstacle after another.
Mountain guide Sherpa, the central figure of the book, expressed his immense joy on the occasion. He underlined the profound importance of each step taken in the Himalayas, stating, "In the Himalayas, when climbers at the point of surrender, that's when we tell them they are just a few steps away."
The event was attended by distinguished individuals, including New Zealand's Consul Lisa Chogyal, Yeti Air Chairman Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, Member of Federal Parliament Manbir Rai, President of Nepal Mountaineering Association Nima Nuru Sherpa, Chairperson of Khumbu Rural Municipality Mingma Chhiri Sherpa, Vice-Chairperson of Khumbu Rural Municipality Tashi Lhamu Sherpa, and various other notable figures.
IFMGA guide Pemba Gelje also made a new speed record on Mt Manaslu as he completed Manaslu climb in just 12 hours earlier this season.
