Murder convict jailed after nine years
KATHMANDU: Police have recently sent an absconding murder convict behind bars after nine years of conviction and 16 years of crime.
Raju Ghale (35) of Bhraka VDC-3 in Manang district was nabbed by a police team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) from his rented room at Dhobichaur, KMC-17 on October 2.
The Kathmandu District Court had slapped him with the life imprisonment on December 27, 2007.
Ghale along with 10 others had murdered Subarna Gurung (19) of Purano Baneshwor at Julie 54 Disco in Thamel on November 3, 2000.
Gurung was attacked by a sharp weapon following a heated argument with Ghale and others.
Gurung had lost his consciousness and was rushed to the Bir Hospital. However, he had breathed his last during treatment there on the very day.
Police have sent him to the Sundhara-based Central Jail to serve the sentence.
