KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 19
Jasmine Kaur, Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) student at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), has won the title of 'Virtual Presentation Talentia-2020' held in Kathmandu, on Friday.
Winner Kaur, a sixth semester student, who had made it to the last round along with other four participants, impressed a panel of judges by giving a presentation on 'The role of media and communication in tourism development and promotion' today.
Five finalists were short-listed for the final round of physical presentation after competing with more than 100 participants from within Nepal and abroad, during the lockdown.
However, one of the finest finalists, Dipendra Silwal, BHM student of fourth semester could not participate today due to personal reasons.
The panel of judges included Ujjwal Satyal, former principal of NATHM, Laxman Gautam, acting director at Tourism Board and Roopesh Shrestha, Multi Property Director of Learning and Development at Marriott Hotel, Kathmandu.
Rupesh Karki was the runner-up followed by Bijita Shakya and Dipak Raj Bhatta.
The winners were awarded with cash prize, trophy, certificates and gift hampers sponsored by E-Sewa, Chandragiri Hills Pvt Ltd, Hotel Dalia Pokhara, Chitlang Organic Village Resort among others.
In the closing remarks, Executive Director Dipak Kumar Thapa said, "Events like this will definitely add value in enhancing public speaking abilities of students."
The event, organized by NATHM, was hosted by Binod Aryal, BHM Co-ordinator, with Dambar Raj Bhatta and Samik Sharma as co-hosts.
