NRA addresses quake victims’ complaints

The National Reconstruction Authority has addressed all complaints lodged by quake victims from 14 districts worst affected by the 2015 earthquakes.
Of the total 207,861 complaints registered by those affected by the earthquakes at NRA centres in these districts, the NRA’s executive committee today addressed the remaining 31,979 complaints, according to NRA.
Of them, altogether 3,898 quake victims were enlisted as the beneficiaries of the reconstruction grant. The NRA executive committee meeting also decided to conduct survey of 12,628 quake-hit households left to be surveyed in the past.
Likewise, an on-site visit will be made to 15,453 such households, shared NRA Spokesperson Yam Lal Bhusal.
Similarly, of all the complaints addressed by the NRA so far, altogether 35,229 have been enlisted as beneficiaries, said Spokesperson Bhusal.
Engineers have been mobilised in Dolakha and Nuwakot for assessing damage to houses left to be evaluated. The NRA is preparing to deploy as many as 300 trained engineers for the same to the rest of the districts.
Also, the local units have been instructed to expedite the work in such a manner that all the complaints relating to reconstruction of quake-damaged houses in all 14 districts be addressed by mid-September.
