KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2

Ruling partners, Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN (Maoist Centre), convened today to discuss the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections scheduled for January 25.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, involved discussions among Prime Minister and Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, NC President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and other attendees, as reported by NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak.

Lekhak stated that the parties intend to hold further discussions with other political parties regarding the upper house elections.

Accompanying Deuba in the meeting were NC Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, and Chief Whip Lekhak.

From the Maoist Centre, Senior Vice Chair and Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha were also present.
