Lawmakers withdraw individual amendment proposals

KATHMANDU: The Constituent Assembly is likely to vote on the joint amendment proposal on the Revised Bill of new constitution, registered by the three major parties Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist.

Lawmakers of UCPN-Maoist and Nepali Congress have withdrawn the amendment proposals that they had registered individually.

Nepali Congress leadership convinced its lawmakers Arjun Narsingh KC and Dr Shekhar Koriala to withdraw their proposals this evening.

Though called for 5 pm, the CA meeting is yet to begin.

The CA concluded the clause-wise discussion on the Revised Bill and is all set to begin the voting process on the amendment proposals and individual clauses of the Bill along with the preamble and the name of the new charter.
