KATHMANDU, April 9
National College of Computer Studies (NCCS) has been honored with the prestigious 'Education Marvelous Award' on the occasion of the 19th Education Award 2081, during a special ceremony held in Kathmandu.
The award was conferred by Shikshayala, the organizer of the annual event, in recognition of NCCS's ongoing excellence and contribution to Nepal's education sector.
Receiving the award, Prajwal Baniya Chettri, Director of NCCS, remarked, "This recognition stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication, collective hard work, and pursuit of academic excellence. It not only brings us immense pride but also heightens our sense of responsibility toward further elevating the quality of education in Nepal."
In a Facebook post following the ceremony, Director Chettri dedicated the achievement to the entire NCCS academic community-"Our committed faculty, enthusiastic students, and supportive staff-whose combined efforts have made this milestone possible."
Chettri also underscored NCCS's pioneering position in Nepal's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education landscape. As a leading institution offering the BScCSIT program in Kathmandu, NCCS has also expanded its academic offerings to include the Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) and Bachelor in Information Management (BIM) programs.
"In addition to our strong ICT focus, we take pride in delivering excellence through our Bachelor in Business Management (BBM) program and the Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) program," he added.
Director Chettri further emphasized that this recognition motivates the institution to continue setting new benchmarks in academic excellence. "In keeping with the evolving needs of the education sector, we are planning to introduce new programs including Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), and Bachelor in Social Work (BSW)-offering students a diverse range of academic pathways."
He also noted, "NCCS is proud to be Quality Assurance (QA) certified by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and we remain committed to providing quality education across disciplines."
Currently, NCCS operates early childhood to higher secondary programs at its Chandol premises, while its plus two (management) and undergraduate-level programs are conducted at the Paknajol campus in Kathmandu.
