NCP (Chand) spokesperson BK's third back-to-back arrest

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police today arrested Netra Bikram Chand led Nepal Communist Party Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma, again, for the third time in two weeks.

Police had arrested Bishwakarma for the first time on August 7 on charges of seeking donation illegally. However, In response to a habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of Bishwakarma, the Supreme Court had termed his detention illegal and ordered the government to release him from custody.

Following his release on August 17, he was rearrested the same day on charges of arson and organised crime.

Nonetheless, Police have again arrested BK from Kathmandu District Court premises, shortly after the Supreme Court ordered his release on Thursday, on fresh charges accusing him of plotting IED explosion at a polling station in Bhojpur during elections.
