Kathmandu, March 19

Investigation undertaken by the Nepali Army has shown that the improvised explosive device that went off at Ncell office in Nakkhu on February 22 was ‘Neojel 90’, which is primarily used for commercial purpose.

One person was killed and two others were injured in the blast at Nakku.

Earlier, the NA had revealed that the IED placed at Angan restaurant on the same day was also Neojel 90, which fortunately didn’t go off.

Neojel 90 can be imported only after seeking permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The explosive  is used to blow up large rocks for construction of hydro-electricity dams, tunnels or highways.

According to NA Spokesperson Yam Prasad Dhakal, construction contractors need to seek permission from the MoHA to import such substance. The NA also keeps record of such substance imported with the permission of the MoHA.
