Ban on Futsal arenas lifted after operators pledge to get legal recognition
KATHMANDU: After operators pledged to carry out official procedure for their registration and official recognition for their business within 15 days and prevent all illegal activities, local administration on Friday decided to let futsal arenas run in the Capital.
Police yesterday had ordered the closure of all futsal arenas operating in the Capital until further notice.
Police had claimed that the arenas were being operated without registering with the government or following any code of conduct or standard operating procedures.
According to police, locals had complained that youth gathering at futsal arenas created disturbance in the neighbourhood and illegal activities, including gambling, drug abuse and binge drinking, were rampant there.
