Nepal deplores hydrogen bomb test

KATHMANDU: The government on Thursday deplored the hydrogen bomb test, which North Korea announced it ‘successfully’ conducted on Wednesday.

“Nepal views that such an act would be detrimental to international nuclear non-proliferation efforts as well as peace, unity and stability on the Korean peninsula,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Nepal upholds a consistent policy of general and complete disarmament of all weapons of mass destruction and is against the conduct of any nuclear test, it added.

Nepal has urged to settle all international disputes through peaceful means in line with the Charter of the United Nations and the Principles of International Law.
