Kathmandu, November 26:

General secretary of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal today criticised the “tendency of some senior leaders” of taking advantage of others’ hard work. He flayed his co-workers for trying to win the biggest position in the post-Jana Andolan scenario.

“No one should minimise anybody’s contribution. The whole world knows who did what in the one-year-long peace process that started with the historic seven-party agreement with the Maoists in New Delhi,” he said, speaking at an interaction at the Reporters’ Club. Without naming, he charged a senior leader of trying to ignore the initiative UML had taken to bring the Maoists to the talks table.

“Nobody can show himself taller by standing on somebody’s head. Is there anybody who wants to be another Ganeshman Singh?” he said. He indicated that the interim government would not be formed by December 1.

Delay in formation of an interim government is not a big issue but the constituent assembly elections must be held on time, he said.

Nepal also criticised the recent Special Court verdicts which cleared some political leaders from corruption charges they had been facing.
