KATHMANDU, JUNE 17
The Nepal Mountain Rescue Training Course, conducted from June 6 to 13, 2025, concluded in Kathmandu.
The training was organized by the Eurac Research Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine in collaboration with the Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA), Eurac Research Education and Training, the International Commission for Mountain Emergency Medicine (ICAR MedCom), and the Mountain Rescue Service of South Tyrol (BRD).
The training was supported by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen-South Tyrol, Italy. It aimed to enhance the technical and practical skills of mountain rescuers and medical professionals in Nepal and promote international cooperation in mountain rescue operations.
A total of 20 participants attended the training, including medical doctors involved in wilderness medicine, guides from the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA), personnel from Nepal Police's Disaster Management Division, members of the Nepali Army's High Altitude and Mountain School in Jomsom, and HRA staff.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held on June 13 at Hotel Manaslu, Kathmandu. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and handed over certificates to the participants.
