Nepal Students Union convention in June
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Students Union (NSU), a sister wing of the Nepali Congress, has decided to hold its general convention in the third week of June.
NSU President Ranjit Karna informed the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba that the Union was preparing to hold the convention after one and half months.
NC President Deuba had summoned the NSU President at his Budhanilakantha-based residence and acquired information about his plan and preparations for the general convention.
In response, Karna said the NSU had planned to call the general convention in the third week of June, according to NSU leader Rhishikesh Jung Shah, who was also present in the meeting.
"We will fix the exact date for the general convention by calling a central committee meeting within the next 10 days," Karna said.
It may be noted that the party's first meeting held since Deuba took charge of the party directed its sister wings to organise the general convention within the next six months.
Nepal Tarun Dal and Nepal Women Association are holding the general conventions in August.
