Nepali Congress convention to open at Khulamanch

KATHMANDU: Inaugural ceremony of the 13th national general convention of Nepali Congress would take place at the Khulamanch while the closed session would be held at Bhrikutimandap.

A meeting of office bearers and Central Working Committee members available in Kathmandu and 13 committees formed for preparation of the general convention at the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Office at Singha Darbar today took a decision in this regard.

Talking to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), NC CWC member Nabindra Raj Joshi, said, "Although it was decided to hold the inaugural ceremony at Dasharath Stadium, it was changed after suggestions of the office-bearers. We visited the Khulamanch in this connection today."

All preparations including district conventions for the general convention were postponed till February 12 after the demise of NC President Sushil Koirala.

Discussions about preparations were held in a formal meeting today for the first time since the demise of Koirala.

The meeting also discussed the policy and programmes to be presented in the general convention.

Present on the occasion were acting President Ram Chandra Paudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, General Secretaries—Prakashman Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, as well as other party leaders and CWC members.
