KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashanka Koirala today returned home after being discharged from the hospital.

Hundreds of cadres and well wishers had gathered at the Om Hospital premises to greet Koirala, who was admitted to the hospital on July 5 as he suffered from aspiration pneumonia that led to septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.

His wife Supatra along with the senior doctors of the hospital, Bhola Rijal and Harish Joshi, escorted him to the vehicle. Thanking the doctors, Koirala departed from the hospital premises for his residence in Tokha.

Hospital Chairman Rijal, informed that Koirala's reports are all normal, but needs to rest for a month. He has been called for a follow-up a week later, added Rijal.
