Nepali Congress to count votes for 25 CWC members Wednesday
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress National General Convention's Election Committee said that the votes for the Central Working Committee members from the open category will be carried out from Wednesday morning.
In a statement, the Election Committee's Gopal Krishna Ghimire said the vote count will begin at the Nepali Congress party's central office in Sanepa at 10:00 am.
As many as 90 Nepali Congress representatives and leaders have vied for the 25 positions from the open category.
Votes for CWC members from other categories will be counted after the results from the open categories are announced.
The elections were held on Sunday to elect the party's new leadership. The runoff election held the following day elected Sher Bahadur Deuba as the party president.
Likewise, Shashanka Koirala and Sitadevi Yadav has won the elections for the party's general secretary and treasurer post respectively.
