Nepali NGO among award nominees

Kathmandu, June 1:

The Centre for Rural Technology Nepal (CRTN) has been selected as one among the ten finalists for the world’s leading green energy prize, the Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy from across the globe.

Former US Vice President Al Gore is going to present the prizes at a ceremony to be held at the Royal Geographical Society in London on June 21, a press release issued by the organiser said.

The finalist from Nepal will compete with contenders from Bangladesh, China, Ghana, India, Laos, Peru, Philippines and Tanzania, for five awards and more than £200,000 of prize money earmarked to help project expansion and replication in other communities.
