Nepaltar police gets new one-storey building

Kathmandu, August 13

Police Commissioner Additional Inspector General Bam Bahadur Bhandari inaugurated a newly constructed building of Metropolitan Police Sector, Nepaltar, yesterday.

The one-storey building, which is located at the centre of Tarakeshwar Municipality Wards No 7, 8, and 9 was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.64 million contributed by the local community.

Chairperson of building construction committee Kajiram Khadka handed over the infrastructure to AIG Bhandari before its inauguration amid a special function.

On the occasion, AIG Bhandari honoured the locals who extended financial and physical support for the construction of the building.

Stating that collaboration between police and public could make a huge difference, he said, “We live in a society where all kinds of people live. Support of locals assist the cops in maintaining law and order.”

He also informed that MPO had made security arrangements in all parts of Kathmandu Valley on the basis of their vulnerability to crimes. “The construction of building as per the spirit of ‘Police : My Friend’ is praiseworthy,” he said.

DIG Chabbilal Joshi said community support had made police more responsible. Mayor of Tarkeshwor Municipality Rameshwor Bohara said locals were committed to collaborating with police as security was a basic need of society.
