KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 18

Nepal's famous folk-rock band, Nepathya, is all set to perform in Dubai of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 6th November this year after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Issuing a press statement today, Nepalaya which manages the band, said, the band will embark on it's first international post-COVID pandemic tour to the middle-east country to entertain Nepali music enthusiasts.

Band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung said, "We are looking forward to visiting Dubai again and performing at the same venue known as the venue for ice skating and other musical events."

Earlier, Nepathya had first performed in Dubai after the 2015 earthquake. The band was able to perform even at the time of disaster and collected the money received from the Dubai concert to support the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, reads the statement.

"At a time when the whole of nation was grieving, nearly 2,000 people attended the concert," recalled singer Amrit Gurung. Four years later, the band reached Dubai again for the second time in 2019.

As always, Amrit will be supported by Dhurba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboard, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.

The band will leave for the gulf nation on 3rd November for the event, according to the statement.
